Introduction
Welcome to The Turnaround’s Day 38 of 52 Days of Prayer. We’ve been on a journey with the Lord. He has been building us all up spiritually so that we may become good leaders like Nehemiah. We must all continue building the portion of the “wall” that is within our own scope of responsibility.
Insight
A common theme among the previous days of prayer is bringing awareness of Nehemiah’s leadership among the people of Jerusalem. His heart was broken for the state of the Lord’s Kingdom. He petitioned the leaders of that day to allow him to go forth and lead the monumental task of rebuilding the walls of the once great city.
We can only imagine how Nehemiah must have felt on the journey to the land that was destroyed. I’m sure he had a multitude of feelings and countless thoughts of how impossible the tasks were that laid before him. Not to mention having to confront the mob of skeptics and dissenters that undoubtedly brought continuous discouragement to the cause.
Knowing God through prayer, and knowing the purpose revealed to us through a prayer relationship with the Lord, is the mechanism of confidence and strength when our cause is challenged by the adversary. When we are questioned by the enemy and our purpose is clearly defined we can stand strong with the Lord in our partnership of faith in Him.
Turnaround Question
What adversary are you facing, and what cause are you fighting for that seems like there is no end in sight? Maybe you are wondering if you will ever see a harvest worthy of glory for the Lord? Maybe you are questioning what the purpose is in all of this?
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, let all love, honor, and praise be yours. We thank you for your continued encouragement and support in times of trouble. We thank you for your provision and revelation of our purpose defined in your Word. Forgive us for how we have hurt you, Lord, and those that you love including how we have allowed the walls that we are responsible for around us to crumble. Bless us with clarity of vision as we fulfill the purpose you have destined for us. Please continue encouraging us to persevere through trials. Because we know that if we don’t grow weary doing good, at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
