Welcome to The Turnaround’s 52 Days of Prayer!
Introduction
Welcome to Day 26 of our 52 days of prayer. Deuteronomy was written by Moses to prepare the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land. This book is significant because it challenged the Israelites to obey God and it promises blessings if they are faithful. This reminder should encourage us today that through every season including dark times God is faithful and He cares for us. It also reminds us that we should focus on Jesus who has already won the victory for us.
Insight
Moses summoned Joshua and told him “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8). This verse is hopefully encouraging because when we are facing dark times it is important to take heart and remember who is in control.
Turnaround Question
What is one area in your life this week you can give God more control over? How can you trust God more this week and believe he is sovereign in your life?
Prayer
Lord God, we are surrounded each day by things which frighten us, anger us, or even leave us at a loss for proof that you are guiding us. But, Lord God, even in our darkest moments and when this earthly world seems beyond our understanding, we place ourselves entirely in your hands and know that you will never leave us or forsake us. For as long as we believe in you, and in your Kingdom, we are never alone, and our fears and our worries and the turmoil of the world is but nothing beside your love and your grace. This we pray in the name of your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns forever. Amen.
